| Small lot homes |
Designing homes for small sites is a specialised skill, a skill that requires careful consideration and optimal utilisation of every square metre of land and home space available. By properly zoning living functions within small lot home designs, spacious, livable and environmentally adaptable residences can be achieved.
Many of the basic principals of small lot living are demonstrated below in the planning and design concepts for the Pacific Beach, a design that has been in the mondo living range since 2002 and is proving as popular as ever with homebuyers.
The planning concept clearly shows how the zoning of functions has been considered, allowing living areas to be aligned on the northerly aspect to take advantage of climatic benefits. The garage and sleeping areas have been configured on the southerly side and the main bedroom opens out onto the rear garden and lawn area, creating a private retreat.
The design concept illustrates how living areas can be extended from the front door right through to the rear fence, producing a spacious and very livable home environment. |
